How boxes work

A hobby box contains a fixed number of packs and, depending on the product, guaranteed hits (autographs or memorabilia cards). The catch for a team collector: what you pull is random. You might open a box — or five — and get zero Cowboys.

Value boxes vs. hobby boxes

Not every sealed football product is the same tier. Hobby boxes are the hobby-shop format: fewer packs, a higher price, and typically a guaranteed autograph or memorabilia hit per box. Value boxes, fat packs, and tins — the retail-tier format sold at mass retailers, and what our current lineup below stocks — skip the guaranteed hit in exchange for a lower price and more cards per dollar. Neither guarantees a Cowboy. If your budget is aimed at volume of packs rather than a shot at a big hit, value-tier is the honest starting point; if you want a shot at an autograph, that’s a hobby-box or single-card purchase, not a value box.

That means the Prizm/Select/National Treasures names above belong to the outgoing Panini era, and newest-season rookies will start arriving in Topps-branded product instead.
